Yesterday was Valentine's Day. It is typically a day full of love. The amount of love we received yesterday easily surpasses the combination of all Valentine's Days in the past. I had been wanting to share our story on Facebook. I know word travels fast, so there were people who knew of our situation but weren't sure what to say or how to react when they saw us. Since it's winter, my belly is often hidden behind jackets, sweatshirts, or oversized sweaters. As you can see from the picture below, it's not as easy to hide in tighter clothing at this point. Although I have not been trying to hide anything, when I see friends who did not know our situation, my belly is starting to bring inquisitive stares and questions. Although at this point the scale is still on my side, the buttons on my pants are not "man enough" for the job. Nothing is better than a girl's night at The Melting Pot with maternity pants- just saying :)
After worried messages started to roll in, I realized that it would be best to share our news on Facebook in the way we would have preferred to communicate it- instead of in a vague message to a company that people may stumble across.
Once we shared the news, the love and kind words started rolling in. Many who reached out to us brought us to tears (well me- but Matt was touched). We have been introduced to many people who have shared their similar stories with us. People who we hadn't talked to in years reached out to share their kind words of support. Valentine's Day is always supposed to be celebrated by taking extra effort to show the ones close to you that you love and care for them- I've never felt as much love as I did last night. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you.
